Statue of Minnehaha and Hiawatha, bronze, by Jakob Fjelde. The plaster version was exhibited at the Chicago World’s Columbian Exposition, in 1893. The piece was cast in bronze in 1912, and installed in Minnehaha park on October 5th. (100th anniversary next year!) There’s a bit more information about the piece on the MNopdeia website.
