Yesterday’s Phenology: Dragonflies are flying. Noticed millions of them flying over the field as we walked to the dog park. Probably feeding on all the small flies that are visiting all the flowering field plants. Nature: a big cafeteria.

    Hi Wade!
    Glad you like them. I try to keep them fact-based, but I’m afraid that they may at times veer off into conjecture or fancy. There’s been a surprising amount of birds at the little pond up in Maplewood, near where I work. My favorites this year were the cormorant, (vaguely prehistoric looking) and the bufflehead, which was just plain cute.
