Yesterday’s Phenology: Woke up to a winter wonderland, with about an inch and a half of snow on the ground, and all the trees and bushes crowned with heavy white crowns. Snow was kind of spotty across the Twin Cities – it seemed like downtown St. Paul didn’t get any, and there was a dusting up in Maplewood. Just about freezing as I headed to work, but the sun came out in the afternoon and it warmed up to the low 50s. Saw about a dozen red-winged blackbirds showing off in a little tiny wetland on my way to work. After work I walked Flynn and saw a lot of little tiny blue flowers looking for pollinators. Springtime in Minnesota.
